The 21st century has seen a powerful convergence of technology and art, which is akin to some of the most significant advances from the past. Technological advances have always affected artistic endeavors. From the advent of the painting and sculptural techniques and tools, to the interjection of photographic technologies, art has been changed and advanced through technology.

As AI technology advances beyond what many of of us can imagine, artists will be called upon to envision the future of art in ways that will continue to inspire progress through creativity. This project, titled Distance, is my contention that the perceived artificiality of technologically enhanced art is merely a matter of perception. Using cell phones, iPads, and digital cameras, I created a series that speaks to the reality of our modern world. We see so much through the filter of technology, and that will only continue into the future.
